Howdy Voice AI helps teams stay aligned through light check-ins and workflow intelligence. When Brian and Ali approached reached out in mid-June, they had a Figma prototype, no working app, and a goal to have a pilot-ready app by September. After our engagement, they had a pilot-ready app in early August.
The Challenge
The Howdy team had limited internal bandwidth, a tight runway, and needed a functional, polished MVP fast. They’d spoken with six other builders but hadn’t found anyone who “really understood what we were trying to do.” This also manifested in their Figma designs, as they designed for the demo, and not for a full, production-ready application. We would end up fleshing out the application even after the Figma freeze, resulting in me making some design decisions on the fly.
Personally, I had never worked on a voice-focused applications. As a result, I had to learn different voice APIs and voice interaction patterns for mobile.
Our Approach
Over the course of the 30 days, we:
- Translated their Figma prototype into a fully functional mobile app
- Kept design and development in sync through Figma, Loom recordings, and bug tracking
- Had scheduled weekly check-ins and more ad-hoc checkins as needed
The Outcome
